Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal distributes Mukh Mantri Sehat Cards

-MP highlights government’s development and welfare initiatives, reaches out to people and listens to their concerns

-Every family getting annual benefits worth Rs 1.82 lakh through free power, healthcare, education and Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna

Phagwara, September 25: Member Parliament Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal on Friday distributed Mukh Mantri Sehat Cards to the eligible beneficiaries under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna (MMSY) at a function organized at Jagatpur Jattan village.

Addressing the people in the village, Dr Chabbewal said that more than 1.14 lakh Mukh Mantri Sehat Cards had so far been registered in Kapurthala district, providing eligible families with cashless health coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh per family per year at government and empanelled private hospitals across Punjab. He said the scheme was aimed at ensuring timely access to quality healthcare while protecting families from the financial burden arising from major illnesses, surgeries and other costly medical treatments. The scheme covers 2,356 treatment packages across 909 empanelled hospitals, including 684 private and 225 public hospitals. He urged eligible residents who had not yet registered under the scheme to complete their enrolment at the earliest and avail themselves of the healthcare benefits. He said that enrolment could be done without any prior appointment through Common Service Centres (CSCs), Seva Kendras and government enrolment camps being organized across the districts. Applicants are required to carry their Aadhaar Card and Voter ID Card for enrolment, he added.

Dr Chabbewal also spoke about the Punjab Government’s initiatives and development works undertaken since 2022, covering sectors including health, education, roads, social security, sports, rural infrastructure, agriculture, irrigation and employment. Highlighting the financial benefits of the government’s work, he said every family was receiving an annual benefit of Rs 1.82 lakh through initiatives including free electricity, healthcare, education and Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna. He also highlighted key welfare initiatives, including 300 units of free electricity per month, resulting in zero bills for more than 90 per cent of domestic consumers. He also mentioned financial assistance of Rs 1,000 per month for eligible women in the general category and Rs 1,500 for eligible SC women, along with free bus travel for women. In education, he highlighted Schools of Eminence aimed at providing quality education and better learning opportunities. He also said the government had strengthened sports infrastructure with thousands of new facilities, including 3,100 Khed Maidan, and launched ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan’ to promote sports among youth. He also highlighted improved irrigation facilities, timely crop payments, more than 70,000 government jobs and other welfare measures since 2022. He also stated about the Mukh Mantri Teerath Yatra Yojna, under which devotees are being provided the opportunity to visit various sacred and religious places, including Sri Anandpur Sahib, Sri Amritsar Sahib, Mata Naina Devi, Mathura-Vrindavan, Khatu Shyam Ji, Haridwar, Rishikesh and Salasar Balaji, among others.
